Thank you for your interest in the position of Early Years Finance Administrator at GLO Childcare and Education, part of YMCA Cheshire.

YMCA Cheshire is excited to be opening a new 79-place childcare setting in Crewe. GLO Childcare and Education will provide high-quality childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years, giving them the best start in life. Guided by our family work approach, we place the child and family at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organised Early Years Finance Administrator to provide robust financial and administrative support to GLO Childcare and Education, based at the Apollo Campus in Crewe.

You will play an important role in ensuring the day-to-day provision operates efficiently and effectively. This will include maintaining the Childcare Management System, raising invoices, responding to account enquiries, registering families and providing general administrative support to the Childcare Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Childcare Management System, registering families and updating information when required
  • Raise monthly sales invoices and support the prompt collection of payments
  • Liaise with parents, carers and third parties regarding invoices and account enquiries
  • Support the effective management of outstanding payments
  • Provide administrative support to the Childcare Manager
  • Answer telephone enquiries and undertake general office duties, including photocopying, scanning and filing
  • Collate, record and maintain accurate documents and financial information
  • Collect and process required data in line with Ofsted and GDPR standards
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Attend regular team meetings
  • Promote partnership working between GLO Childcare and Education and other areas of YMCA Cheshire
  • Support the setting in working towards agreed quality assurance standards
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries or complaints in line with organisational policy
  • Follow YMCA Cheshireโ€™s policies relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection, equality, diversity and inclusion

About You

Weโ€™re looking for someone who:

  • Understands the importance of strong financial and administrative systems in delivering high-quality childcare
  • Has accountancy experience
  • Has at least two yearsโ€™ general office experience, including establishing and maintaining office systems
  • Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Can input and maintain information accurately
  • Has excellent attention to detail
  • Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Can communicate confidently with colleagues, families and external contacts
  • Is proficient and accurate in using Microsoft 365 and database systems
  • Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Can remain effective while working under pressure
  • Understands and respects the importance of confidentiality
  • Is supportive of YMCA Cheshireโ€™s mission, vision and values
  • Is committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion

An ECDL or equivalent qualification, a Level 2 qualification in Accounting, and experience processing Early Years Funding claims through Provider Portal systems would be desirable.

This is a permanent, part-time role, working 15 hours per week across either three or five days, depending on personal preference. The agreed working days will remain the same each week. This is a term-time position, working 40 weeks per year.

The salary is ยฃ9,387.49 per annum, inclusive of holiday pay, equivalent to ยฃ13.78 per hour. The role reports to the Childcare Manager and is subject to the successful opening of the setting and subsequent Ofsted registration.

Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check.
