At YMCA Cheshire, volunteers play a crucial role in helping us continue provide a wide range of services for people at risk of homelessness, as well as children and families in our local community. As well as regular volunteering, we also have opportunities for volunteers to support us on a one-off basis, with roles supporting fundraising events throughout the year. Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to give back to your local community, while also building skills that can help you progress into training and employment.
“Volunteering at the YMCA has had a substantial personal impact on me; witnessing first hand how the opportunities, services and support that the YMCA Cheshire offers to our most vulnerable in society, makes me proud to have been a small part of the above”
“Working alongside my colleagues at GLO Café allowed me to gain experience operating with colleagues from varying backgrounds, providing support in employment. This particular volunteer network showed me the importance of embracing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the work place”
Christina, YMA Young Volunteer of the Year Recipient
Our volunteers have opportunities to make new friends and attend volunteer social events, increase their skills and gain experience. We offer great training and ongoing support from our Volunteer Coordinator. We are very flexible on hours and will ensure that we match the right volunteer to the right vacancy.
