YMCA Cheshire provides safe accommodation and specialist support for individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse across Cheshire East.

In partnership with Cheshire East Council, our service offers a safe, supportive environment where people can begin to rebuild their confidence and work towards an independent future.

Domestic abuse can take many forms, including threats, humiliation, controlling money, monitoring phones and isolation from friends and family. You do not have to be certain that what you are experiencing is abuse to ask for help.

Our approach places each person’s safety, needs and choices at the heart of their support, recognising that everyone’s circumstances and journey are different.

Safe Accommodation Options

Everyone’s circumstances are different, which is why our accommodation is designed to offer flexibility, privacy and safety for people fleeing domestic abuse.

• Self-Contained Safe Accommodation: Private, self-contained accommodation offering individuals a secure place to stay while receiving specialist domestic abuse support. Residents have their own private living space, including their own kitchen and bathroom facilities, allowing them to maintain independence and privacy throughout their stay.
• Dispersed Safe Accommodation: A range of different sized homes across Cheshire East for i families who need to move away from domestic abuse. Each household has their own home, with private living, kitchen and bathroom facilities. Accommodation is matched as closely as possible to household needs, individual circumstances and, most importantly, safety.
