YMCA Cheshire is delighted to announce plans to open GLO Childcare and Education, a new 79-place nursery for children aged three months to five years, at the Frances Wood Building on Apollo Campus.
Subject to Ofsted registration, the nursery is expected to welcome its first children from 2027.
GLO Childcare and Education will provide full-day, half-day and flexible sessions from Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 6.00pm, helping families find childcare that suits their needs.
Situated in a self-contained building away from the main road, with access to green outdoor space, the nursery is being designed to provide a calm, secure and welcoming environment where children can learn, grow and thrive.
The nursery will take a play-based approach to early learning, giving children opportunities to explore, develop their confidence and follow their individual interests both indoors and outdoors.

Families will be encouraged to work closely with the nursery team, ensuring that each child’s needs, interests and stage of development remain at the heart of their experience.
YMCA Cheshire is also committed to building a skilled, valued and supported childcare team. All nursery staff will be paid at least the Real Living Wage and will have access to opportunities for continued professional development.
Vicky Cairney, Strategic Lead for Childcare at YMCA Cheshire, said:
We are delighted to be bringing high-quality childcare to families in Cheshire. GLO Childcare and Education is being shaped around what families tell us matters: clear pricing, a genuine partnership with parents and carers, and a team that feels valued and supported.
“We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming our first children in 2027.
Recruitment is underway for the founding GLO Childcare and Education team, including Room Leaders and Early Years Educators.
This is an exciting opportunity for passionate early years professionals to help shape a brand-new nursery from the beginning. Our team will work together to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children can learn, grow and achieve their full potential.
YMCA Cheshire is committed to investing in its people. Nursery staff will be paid at least the Real Living Wage and supported through training, professional development and opportunities to contribute to the continued improvement of the setting.
If you are passionate about early years education and believe every child deserves the best possible start in life, we would love to hear from you.
