YMCA Cheshire

Thank you for your interest in the position of Early Years Educator at GLO Childcare and Education, part of YMCA Cheshire.

YMCA Cheshire is excited to be opening a new 79-place childcare setting in Crewe. GLO Childcare and Education will provide high-quality childcare and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years, giving them the best start in life. Guided by our family work approach, we place the child and family at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to support the day-to-day running of one of our nursery rooms at GLO Childcare and Education.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One day may involve delivering engaging learning experiences and supporting children’s development, while another could involve working closely with parents and carers, acting as a keyworker, maintaining a safe learning environment, or supporting the wider nursery team to deliver high-quality childcare and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Room Leader and Deputy Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the nursery room
  • Help provide a high-quality, safe and stimulating environment where children can grow and meet their full potential
  • Comply with EYFS, Ofsted, Health & Safety and YMCA Cheshire policies and procedures
  • Support the nursery in securing and sustaining Ofsted registration
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences alongside the wider team
  • Act as a keyworker for a group of children, supporting their learning and development
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress
  • Promote partnership working across GLO Childcare and Education and YMCA Cheshire
  • Maintain accurate records and complete administration required by regulatory bodies
  • Support risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed
  • Support apprentices, students and work experience placements
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement within the setting

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Believes every child deserves the best possible start in life
  • Is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and education
  • Has extensive knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and early years legislation
  • Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Has experience working within an early years setting
  • Has experience acting as a keyworker and working in partnership with parents and carers
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvement
  • Has a genuine respect and regard for children and families

Why Join Us?

At YMCA Cheshire, you’ll become part of a passionate organisation committed to creating better futures for children, families and communities.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape a brand-new childcare setting, supporting children to learn, grow and thrive within a nurturing and inclusive environment. You’ll also benefit from a comprehensive training package, Employee Assistance Programme, health cashback plan, conference opportunities, flexible working, onsite gym, café discount and much more.

This is a full-time permanent role, working 36 hours per week across four days, Monday to Friday, reporting to the Childcare Manager. Please note that the role is subject to the successful opening of the setting and subsequent Ofsted registration.

If you are passionate about early years education, committed to helping children achieve their full potential, and excited to be part of establishing a brand-new childcare provision, we would love to hear from you.
