Thank you for your interest in the position of Supported Accommodation Ofsted Compliance Officer.
YMCA Cheshire provides supported accommodation for children and young people who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, homelessness. We are seeking a Supported Accommodation Ofsted Compliance Officer to provide quality assurance, compliance and administrative support to our Ofsted-registered service at Gresty Road.
You will help ensure that young people’s case files and service records are complete, accurate and compliant with organisational, regulatory and inspection requirements. Through regular auditing, monitoring and reporting, you will support the Registered Service Manager and wider team to maintain excellent record-keeping, demonstrate positive outcomes and remain ready for Ofsted inspections and other quality assurance reviews.
The Role
We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Supported Accommodation Ofsted Compliance Officer to support the day-to-day quality assurance and compliance activity within YMCA Cheshire’s Ofsted-registered Supported Accommodation Service.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One day may involve auditing young people’s case files and identifying missing or overdue documentation, while another could involve updating compliance trackers, analysing performance information, preparing evidence for an Ofsted inspection or supporting the completion of quarterly monitoring reports.
You will work closely with the Registered Service Manager, Children and Young People’s Practitioners and Housing Coaches to ensure records are accurate, young people’s progress is clearly evidenced and the service continues to meet high organisational and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and audit young people’s case files to ensure records are complete, accurate, up to date and completed within required timescales
- Review key documentation, including referral and admission records, matching assessments, risk assessments, safety plans and support plans
- Monitor key-work records, independence skills assessments and education, employment and training information
- Review safeguarding, incident, missing-from-home, transition and move-on planning records
- Identify missing documentation, overdue reviews, inconsistencies and quality concerns, reporting these to the Registered Service Manager
- Maintain compliance trackers and action logs, ensuring agreed actions are followed through to completion
- Conduct routine quality assurance audits and compliance checks to support continuous improvement and inspection readiness
- Ensure records are managed in line with data protection legislation, confidentiality requirements and organisational procedures
- Help prepare evidence and documentation for Ofsted inspections, Regulation 32 reviews, internal audits and other quality assurance activity
- Produce compliance reports, audit findings and performance information for the Registered Service Manager and senior leadership team
- Collate and analyse information relating to occupancy, service delivery, safeguarding, participation, outcomes and young people’s feedback
- Ensure both qualitative and quantitative evidence is captured to demonstrate young people’s progress, engagement and outcomes
- Monitor the completion and quality of Outcome Stars, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and used effectively within support planning
- Support performance monitoring against contractual requirements, organisational expectations and agreed performance indicators
- Assist with quarterly Performance Management Framework reports and other quality assurance or contract-monitoring submissions
- Attend service review, quality assurance and contract-monitoring meetings, preparing documents, taking minutes and tracking actions
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper-based records, databases and filing systems
- Prepare spreadsheets, correspondence, monitoring information and reports
- Support document-control processes, ensuring policies, procedures and templates remain current
- Assist managers with administration relating to admissions, placements, reviews and service monitoring
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and report concerns appropriately
