YMCA Cheshire was proud to be part of a joyful and inclusive Santa Dash Special at Dabbers Dash, held at Barony Park on Saturday 20th December 2025.
The festive edition of the much-loved monthly run, walk and wheel brought together runners, walkers and families with pushchairs for a morning filled with movement, connection and Christmas spirit.
Dabbers Dash is a free, friendly community event open to people of all ages and abilities. Taking place at 9am on one Saturday each month, participants can complete up to 3.5 laps of Barony Park, a 5km route or take part at their own pace. With a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusivity and togetherness, the event reflects values closely shared by YMCA Cheshire. Pride flags at the start and finish highlight Dabbers Dash’s clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
For December’s event, YMCA Cheshire partnered with Dabbers Dash to add a festive twist. Santa hats, antlers and wristbands were handed out to participants, turning Barony Park into a sea of Christmas colour and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone taking part.
YMCA Cheshire has been supporting young people and communities across the region for over a century, having first begun its work in Crewe in 1909. Today, the charity provides a wide range of services including housing, homelessness prevention, learning, family support and youth services, all aimed at creating fairer communities and better futures.
Dabbers Dash founder and organiser Paul McIntyre praised the partnership, thanking YMCA Cheshire for helping to bring the festive spirit to the event and for raising awareness of the charity’s work locally. Around 40 people took part on the day, representing a wide range of ages and abilities and perfectly capturing the inclusive ethos of Dabbers Dash.
YMCA Cheshire would like to thank everyone who joined the Santa Dash Special, as well as the volunteers and organisers who made the event such a success. Events like this highlight the power of community, movement and connection, especially at this time of year.
The next Dabbers Dash takes place on Saturday 24th January 2026, supporting 5KYW as part of the ERDINGER Alkoholfrei MOVE Against Cancer initiative, encouraging anyone affected by cancer to stay active and support their wellbeing.
