Thank you for your interest in the position of Housing Service Manager at YMCA Cheshire. This role is crucial to the work we do in the community supporting people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The post holder will report directly to the Senior Housing and Support Manager.

This is a permanent role, 40 hours per week; shifts are 8-4, Monday to Friday

The pay is £16.58 per hour.

YMCA Cheshire is looking for a Housing Service Manager to lead and inspire our teams supporting individuals facing homelessness across three key services.

  • Gresty Road – a 60-bed supported housing project
  • Housing Led Service – 9 independent accommodation units in the community
  • Move On Service – floating support for around 20 individuals in their own tenancies

You’ll provide dynamic operational leadership to a team of around 8 direct reports, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support that empowers residents and promotes independence and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line manage a multidisciplinary team
  • Oversee daily operations, rota management, and service delivery
  • Manage referrals, voids, caseload allocations and service performance
  • Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health & safety, and housing legislation
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Promote YMCA values
  • Champion resident wellbeing, restorative practices, and psychologically-informed practices

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A proven leader in supported housing, homelessness, or a related field
  • Emotionally intelligent, compassionate, and adaptable
  • Skilled in multi-agency working, compliance, and performance management
  • Confident in managing safeguarding and complex needs cases
  • IT literate (CRM/case management systems, Microsoft Office)
